    This is the the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) 2010-2011 edition of the Online Assessment System (OAS). The mission for the OAS is to provide school districts, classroom teachers, students, and parents support for classroom instruction and student learning. Through this site, educators have access to test items aligned to the state mandated curriculum in order to develop assessments that can inform teaching and improve student learning.
  • Georgia Department of Education
    The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) oversees public education throughout the state. It ensures that laws and regulations pertaining to education are followed and that state and federal money appropriated for education is properly allocated to local school systems. They provide education-related information to students, parents, teachers, educational staff, government officials, and the media.
  • Parental Information and Resource Centers
    Parental Information and Resource Centers (PIRCs) help implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement and that strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators, and other school personnel in meeting the education needs of children. Sec. 5563 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires the recipients of PIRC grants to: serve both rural and urban areas; use at least half their funds to serve areas with high concentrations of low-income children; and use at least 30 percent of the funds they receive for early childhood parent programs.
